The Park Cities News is the official newspaper for Highland Park and University Park and has been publishing for 70 years. It is Park Cities family-owned for two generations.

We have a paid circulation of 5,000 which is mailed to the homes assuring guaranteed delivery. We also have 25 newspaper distribution boxes and are sold through retail stores in the area.

The Park Cities News has extensive coverage of Highland Park and University Park city governments, the Highland Park Independent School District, community news and is the leader in coverage of the Dallas Society.

Frequency discounts are available to advertisers who contract in advance for multiple issue insertions. Frequency rates are not commissionable and are net. In order to receive contract rates, all balances must be paid within 60 days from the date billed. Frequency contracts that are not fulfilled or are in default for nonpayment will be backcharged the open rate for all ads published during the contract. Minimum display ad size for contract rates is a 6 inch ad.

Circulation

The Park Cities News is the established official publication for the affluent Highland Park, University Park, Turtle Creek, Greenway Parks and North Dallas area and has continuously published since 1938.

Published every Thursday, The Park Cities News has the largest paid mail subscription of any community newspaper in the Park Cities - Preston Hollow area.

With a readership of 25,000 plus, The Park Cities News is sold in all Park Cities/Uptown/Turtle Creek area Albertson's, and Tom Thumb, as well as Tom Thumb and Albertson's stores in the North Dallas area. The Park Cities News is also available at 25 newspaper racks located throughout the Park Cities, North Dallas and Uptown areas. The Park Cities News has a wide distribution to the affluent business community of Dallas. Subscription distribution is by second class mail assuring delivery to paid subscribers.

Agency Rate

All rates are net. Invoices outstanding thirty days from the date of the first invoice are considered past due. Past due invoices will accrue interest at 18% per annum. Only charges for space are commissionable.

The Park Cities News reserves the right to revise advertising rates at any time upon thirty days written notice. The advertiser may discontinue on revision by written notice.

All rates shall be published; there shall be no secret rates, rebates or agreements affecting rates. No verbal agreement changing any manner of the conditions or schedule of this rate card will be recognized.

Preferred Positioning

Positioning request will be taken into account, but ad positions are determined on the basis of each issue's format. Formats will be adapted to guarantee a position at a 15% premium.

Color Rate

Black and White plus $200 per color. Four color rate is $325. All color rates are net.

Electronically made ads will be accepted electronically in the following formats: PDF or EPS. Please note that we cannot accept MS PublisherT files.
TEXT may be emailed as an attached file in any word program.
PICTURES may be sent as a jpeg or tiff file.

The Park Cities News will create a basic display advertisement at no charge. If a client wants an ad consisting of extensive graphic work, there will be a $100 per hour production charge.

Deadlines

The Park Cities News is published every Thursday. Space reservation for camera ready and non-camera ready art is Friday at 5 p.m., the week prior to publication. The deadline for ads requiring proofs is Thursday by 12 noon (C.S.T.). These deadlines are strictly enforced.

Late charges may be added for ad materials delivered past the deadline. All ads cancelled after 5 p.m. (C.S.T.) on Friday preceding publication will be charged the full contract rate of the space reserved. Advertisements submitted beyond the deadline for proof service (12 noon (C.S.T.), Thursday) are done so at the advertiser's risk.

Acceptance of Advertising

The Park Cities News reserves the right to reject or revise any copy which it considers objectionable, either because said copy is not in keeping with usual newspaper standards or propriety, or for any other reasons deemed material. In the event, the advertiser assumes full liability for the content of all advertising printed. Advertising set to resemble news matter must carry the word "advertisement" at the top of the ad.

Credit & Billing

Payment for all services is to be made in advance until credit has been established and approved. All balances are due and payable upon receipt at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas and are considered past due thirty days from the date of the first invoice. Payment for all space run is due upon receipt of invoice.

Advertisers will be billed following publication of the advertisement. Balances that remain unpaid thirty days from the date of the first invoice are considered past due and will accrue interest at 18% per annum from the first.

The Park Cities News offers at no charge several creative services in the preparation and production of advertising copy. However, composition cost will be charged on all ads created and not published or corrected with new or additional copy.

All frequency contract rates, etc. will be forfeited if the account balance remains unpaid sixty days from the date of the first invoice. Advertising agencies and their clients are considered jointly liable for all balances outstanding and due.

Any discrepancy or problems with billing and/or ads must be brought to the attention of The Park Cities News in writing within 7 business days from the date of the first invoice or date of publication of the ad. There will be a $50 service charge on all returned checks.

Liability

The advertiser assumes full liability for the content of all advertising printed. All advertisements are accepted and published upon the representation that the agency and/or advertiser is authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter thereof. In consideration of this acceptance by the newspaper, the agency and/or advertiser will indemnify The Park Cities News against any loss or expense resulting from claims or suits based upon the contents of the advertisement including, without limitation, claims or suits for libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism.

All terms and agreements between The Park Cities News and advertisers must be in writing;, no oral agreements or assumptions will be honored. The Park Cities News shall be under no liability by reason of any error, for which it may be responsible, beyond the liability for the actual space occupied by the item in which the error occurred. In case of typographical errors or omissions, the publisher shall not be liable for damages beyond the cost of the advertisement. The Park Cities News shall be under no liability for its failure for any cause to insert an advertisement.

All bills are due and payable at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, USA.

Advertisement copy submitted beyond the deadline for proof service ( 12 noon, Thursday) is done so at the advertiser's risk.

Rates for Display Classified advertising are $22 per column inch (2.5 inches wide by 1 inch in length) and must run a minimum of two consecutive issues. Color is not available on the classified page.
